SPORTS

After toiling for several years in the sports and for the last two years of administering AWF, I have been most honored to serve the Federation, working on regular basis with our board members and achieving good relations to the entire Weightlifting Federations in the world specially to the IWF where we submit due diligence authority. Together, our AWF family achieved unprecedented unity... and I believe that “our unity” proved to be influential considering the last results of the remarkable 2008 Beijing Olympic Games which positioned Asians on top; it was remarkable team effort. And continuously, we will keep our teamwork not only to maintain the sport of Weightlifting in Asia but worldwide, upholding incessant brotherhood to preserve our much-loved Weightlifting as a healthy and enjoyable sport for all. Particularly, I was very glad and thankful for the strength and expansive commitments and trust that all of you have given to me. Being one of the leaders in the world weightlifting, I would like to quote my preference of making priority as strategy in keeping our sport solid and stable. It is relevant to share my thoughts of giving my precedence support to the leaders from Asia who exceptionally hosted outstanding championships or events in the past such as Olympic Games, World and Continental competitions. And as I am looking after the camaraderie within the international weightlifting sport, let us join together in supporting the candidate leaders from different federations who massively contributed and displayed tough job to the development of weightlifting globally. Henceforth, I am writing to ask you to support my candidacy for the position of Vice President which is an absolute significant position that highly requires precise ability and vibrancy to reach out to every aspect and expectation of our various Weightlifting Federations and enthusiasts. My main intention during my AWF candidature was to run a more civil federation that is open and transparent to build a strong relationship within the AWF family and provide support to those who are in need of promoting our sport, which I believed that I have established a strong track record in this regard over the last two years and demonstrated the responsibility as President and as a true leader. Needless to say, Asia now is more united and noticeably successful with the guidance of our IWF incumbent President Dr. Tamas Ajan who never fails to remind us the importance of humility and solidarity in the Federation. While I assure you that I have given a great deal of thought to this position. Friends, together let us reinforce and aim to commit the best composition of leaders around the globe to lead the International Weightlifting Federation to maintain its stability under the leadership of DR. TAMAS AJAN. Thank you very much and I sincerely wish that we will be responsible enough to respect our privilege to vote for the betterment of our sport. I will be looking forward to hear from your viewpoints about my candidacy and most specially your support during the electoral congress. Yours truly, SULTAN BIN AL SHEIKH MEJREN President, Asian Weightlifting Federation
